Our Leading Lady...

Jaina Solo is the eldest of the Solo children by five minutes. She and her twin brother Jacen were born on Coruscant. During these times of strife, Leia and Han sequestered their children on various safeworlds, keeping them out of harm's way. After a number of attempts to capture the Solo children, the parents eventually decided to keep the family together.

On Coruscant, the twins were raised by Winter and C-3PO As Leia was Chief of State of the New Republic, she rarely had time to devote to family, though she made every possible effort. As she grew older, Jaina began to notice Leia's distance more and more, a distance she would later come to resent.

Headstrong Jaina showed a mechanical aptitude that made her father proud. At nine years of age, she was already flying the Falcon, and knew enough to help her father with simple repairs.

By the time she was 14, Jaina was already a capable pilot. She attended her Uncle Luke's Jedi academy, honing her impressive talents in the Force, and making new and long-lasting friends, such as Lowbacca, Tenel Ka and Zekk. Surviving run-ins with the Second Imperium, the Diversity Alliance and other foes, Jaina then apprenticed herself to Mara Jade. The two bonded, and Jaina grew both as a Jedi, and as a pilot.

Her skills behind the controls of an X-Wing fighter earned her a position in Rogue Squadron during the Yuuzhan Vong crisis. Flying as Rogue Eleven, Jaina went by the nickname "Sticks." While at Ithor, Jaina met a fellow pilot named Jagged Fel, an ally of the New Republic flying with a Chiss defense force. The young woman felt something stir within her, and she definitely admired Jagged Fel for his piloting skill and icy cool demeanor.

The Yuuzhan Vong crisis has been a trial of character for young Jaina, who was forced into the hardships of war before even reaching adulthood. In her carefree days of adventure as a teen, she had been spared lessons in mortality. With the death of Chewie, and the subsequent straining of family bonds among the Solos, Jaina has learned indelible lessons that are shaping her character.

Leia believes her daughter to be the most pragmatic of her children. Whereas contemplative Jacen is often crippled with indecision, and impetuous Anakin would often plunge into action heedless of the consequences, Jaina would measure her actions and suit them to the moment. She is not without a temper, as her stubbornness will often lead her to arguments. Jaina has, on occasion, lambasted her brother for his passivity and her mother for her distance.

With the trying times of war, Jaina's temper came close to being her undoing. After the death of her youngest brother and disapperance of her twin, Jaina was enraged and touched the dark side of the Force. Her pragmatism dangerously eclipsed her compassion and faith in her uncle's Jedi teachings, and she found herself allied to Kyp Durron, a strong-minded Jedi seeking more proactive reform in the order.

In escaping the botched Jedi mission that claimed her brother's life, Jaina stole a Yuuzhan Vong vessel, the Ksstarr. With their Coruscant home conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong, she led the remnants of the Jedi strike force to the Hapes Cluster. On Hapes, Jaina became embroiled in court intrigue, as the scheming former Queen Mother Ta'a Chume tried to orchestrate a marriage between her son, Prince Isolder, and Jaina, in a failed bid to replace the current Queen Mother Teneniel Djo.

By closely examining the Ksstarr, Jaina realized a fundamental underpinning of Yuuzhan Vong spacefaring technology: bodies in space are recognized by their unique gravitic signature. She began exploring plans to use that knowledge against the Yuuzhan Vong. Her risky tests prove successful. Her deceptive tactics wreaked havoc with the Yuuzhan Vong's ability to identify friends and foe, prompting her to rename the vessel Trickster. Jaina's reputation began to grow thanks to crafty disinformation spread by New Republic agents. The Yuuzhan Vong began to associate Jaina with their trickster goddess, something New Republic commanders wholeheartedly encouraged by referring to her as "Goddess," "Great One," and similar.

[ Solo, Jaina ]

Jaina fought tirelessly through campaigns at Borelias, Obroa-skai and Ebaq 9, flying alongside Jag Fel. The two tentatively explored their feelings for one another, risking love against a backdrop of war. She achived the rank of lieutenant colonel, and is now flying escort for her parents' mission of reuiniting the fragments of the former New Republic under the new banner of the Galactic Alliance.

The Rouge Jedi Master...

Time and again Kyp Durron has faced incredible hardship, and has emerged stronger from the experience, yet not unscathed. Durron's attunement to the Force is very powerful, and the restraint taught by his master, Luke Skywalker, could barely contain the impetuous young Jedi. When Durron abandoned his restraint and gave into his emotions, the results were disastrous.

Durron was born to outspoken political activists in the Deyer colony of the barren Anoat system. When their views bordered on treason, Imperial stormtroopers raided the Durron home and rounded up the dissidents. Kyp and his parents were sentenced to hard labor at the Kessel spice mines while his older brother Zeth was drafted into the Imperial military at Carida.

A year into his sentence, Kyp's parents were killed in a prison revolt. The orphan toiled away in pitch darkness, extracting precious glitterstim for refinement in the processing centers of Kessel. During his time there, his path crossed that of a mysterious old woman named Vima-Da-Boda, who told him of the Force and helped nurture his nascent talents. But even that contact was denied him as Vima was transferred elsewhere.

For eight years Durron slaved away with little hope of liberty, until New Republic representative Han Solo and Chewbacca were incarcerated by the corrupt Kessel government. Solo and Chewbacca shared a work detail with Kyp, and the seasoned youngster provided valuable survival tips to the Republic heroes.

Solo and Chewie included Kyp in a daring prison break that saw the trio escape in a commandeered Imperial shuttle. Kyp demonstrated enormous Force-potential when he instinctively navigated his way through the maelstrom of black holes bordering the Kessel system. Although their ship was drawn into the Maw Cluster, Kyp somehow safely navigated them into the "eye" of the storm, and a top secret Imperial installation.

Although freed from the Kessel mines, Han, Chewie and Kyp were again imprisoned, this time by Imperial forces unaware that the Galactic Civil War had played itself out nearly a decade earlier. Maw Installation was a secret think tank of theoreticians and engineers carrying on the late Grand Moff Tarkin's legacy of superweapon development. Sunken into the nearly inaccessible Maw Cluster, these Imperials had no idea as to the true state of the outside galaxy.

Locked up in the complex, Solo was able to convince the naïve scientist Qwi Xux the errors of her ways and the true nature of the Empire. Breaching decades of Imperial brainwashing, Solo appealed to Qwi's passion for life, and the willowy Omwati alien liberated Solo, Chewbacca, and Kyp, and fled the Maw Cluster in the installation's most stunning achievement -- the ultimate weapon-ship, the Sun Crusher. Once in possession of the Sun Crusher, the New Republic did away with the controversial craft by plunging it into the heart of the Yavin gas giant.

In fleeing the Maw, it was again Kyp Durron who instinctively navigated his way to freedom. At this time, Luke Skywalker was gathering candidates for his newly formed Jedi academy on Yavin 4. He tested Durron and was astounded by the youth's potential. The years of hardship had tainted Kyp, though. Having lived without freedom or family for years, he made a promise to himself never to be weak or overpowered again. This determination, fueled by anger and fear, brought Kyp ever closer to the dark side.

Skywalker's first class of Jedi students was an eclectic mix of Force-attuned beings from across the galaxy. Kyp was easily the most powerful, and he quickly grew impatient at Skywalker's pace of instruction. Unbeknownst to Luke, an evil presence had infested his praxeum. The shadowy spirit of a long-dead Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun, resided in the ancient temples of Yavin 4. Seeing a capable youth easy to exploit, Kun whispered promises of power to Kyp and was secretly training him.

Possessed by the dark side, Kyp was determined to be the first new Dark Lord since the deaths of the Emperor and Vader. Filled with righteous vengeance, Kyp sought to end the Empire's destructive ways. Kyp confronted Skywalker on Yavin 4 and used his dark side energies to knock Luke into a coma. Incredibly, Kyp was then able to summon the Sun Crusher from the depths of Yavin 4 to use as his personal conveyance. As part of his maddened vigilantism, Durron ensured that another Sun Crusher would never be built by using the Force to tear all knowledge of the superweapon project from Qwi Xux's vulnerable mind.

Armed with the Sun Crusher, Kyp soared to Carida, the heart of the Imperial Academy. Kyp launched the Sun Crusher's resonance torpedoes into Carida's sun, triggering a chain reaction that would destroy the system. As he watched the inevitable, Kyp was shocked to learn that his brother Zeth was a trooper stationed on Carida. Kyp not only failed to rescue Zeth, but was the unwitting agent of his sole surviving relative's death.

Han Solo was disheartened to learn of Kyp's spree of destruction. Han chased Kyp down and confronted him. At this very moment, Luke's students at the Jedi Academy were able to defeat the dark spirit of Exar Kun, freeing Kyp from that terrible grip. Kyp surrendered to Solo, and although Han was able to forgive Kyp for what he had done, the galaxy would always remember the deaths caused by this young Jedi.

Kyp grappled with the guilt for years, dedicating himself to the Jedi order. He was instrumental in many heroic missions, and eventually grew to mentor several younger Jedi Knights. His exploits became legends to the younger students, who admired Kyp for his bold actions. Kyp even took a Jedi apprentice, Miko Reglia, and became one of the first Jedi Masters of the new order.

Kyp and Reglia formed an X-wing starfighter squadron of non-Jedi pilots called the "Dozen-and-Two Avengers." This brash unit was tasked with ridding the Outer Rim of smugglers and pirates. While they became known as a force to be reckoned with, the starfighter unit was ravaged by the initial invasion forces of the Yuuzhan Vong.

It was this massacre, and Kyp's resulting attitude, that would serve to polarize Luke Skywalker's Jedi order. Not willing to remain passive as the Yuuzhan Vong murdered civilians and sundered entire worlds, Kyp insisted the Jedi take a stance and bring the fight back to the aggressors. Alarmed by Kyp's proposed aggression, Skywalker forbade preemptive strikes and retaliatory actions fueled by anger, since such actions invariably lead to the dark side.

Kyp disregarded Skywalker's insights, and followed his own instincts. He has rallied a number of followers in his controversial bid to attack the Yuuzhan Vong. He even coerced Jaina Solo, Skywalker's niece to his side. He convinced Jaina that the Yuuzhan Vong were constructing a superweapon in the remnants of Sernpidal, and led a strike against the aliens. It wasn't a weapon, but a growing worldship that Durron and Jaina destroyed, and Jaina was furious at the older Jedi for his deceptive ways.

[ Durron, Kyp ]

After the fall of Coruscant, Kyp helped Jaina steer away from the dark side, as the death of her brother Anakin filled her with rage. Kyp's intimate knowledge of the dark side's power helped, though his own aggressive philosophies made the transition difficult for Jaina. In working together to craft a means of deceiving the Yuuzhan Vong, Kyp and Jaina developed an unsual relationship, one of respect and caring, though it was fighter pilot Jag Fel that would eventually win Jaina's heart.

In helping guide Jaina away from the dark side, Kyp too has changed. He understood the power of consensus and the dangers of discord, and began working to assist Master Skywalker in his founding of a new Jedi Council. Kyp would become one of the founding members of this new governing body of the Jedi order.

The Chiss Colonel...

this ruggedly handsome young man was revealed to be the son of Baron Soontir Fel and Syal Antilles, during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. He was distinguished by his pale green eyes and a scar which started above his right eye and ran over his skull. The hair over the scar was white, contrasting with rest of his jet-black hair.

Jagged grew up among the Chiss, being accepted by them ass one of their own, and he strove to ensure that he met their lofty expectations. At the Battle of Garqi, Fel and his Spike Squadron of Chiss were part of the fleet assembled by Admiral Pellaeon to support the New Republic. Their incredible skill helped turn back the Yuuzhan Vong forces.

At the time, he held the rank of Colonel. When the battle group reported back to the New Republic leadership, Jagged Fel was asked by his uncle, Wedge Antilles, to accompany them. Spike Force later assisted the New Republic at the Battle of Ithor.

In the wake of the battle, Fel sent two squadrons of Chiss pilots back to report on the Yuuzhan Vong to his father, while Jagged himself remained behind as a liaison to Rogue Squadron. Jagged later returned to the Chiss at his father's summons, where he agreed to lead a small team to scout out the Yuuzhan Vong's utilization of Ithor and other planets. Soontir hoped that his son could find information useful to the Republic, to keep it from fracturing after the loss of Coruscant.

He spent a good deal of time on Hapes with Jaina Solo, where the two discovered that old attractions still remained. Shortly after the Battle of Coruscant, Jagged agreed to remain on Borleias with his uncle, General Wedge Antilles, and the small group of officers and soldiers who came together to form the Inner Circle.

Jag later joined the Twin Suns Squadron, after Luke Skywalker turned control of the squadron over to Jaina Solo. It was duringt his period of Borleias that Jag realized he felt something very deep for Jaina, a feeling which was reciprocated as much as possible during her portrayal as the Yuuzhan Vong goddess Yun-Harla.

The Childhood Friend...

this young native of Ennth fled the planet following a natural disaster that devastated his colony. He escaped in a supply ship fleeing the planet, on which the captain tried to get him into an orphanage. Zekk fled this ship, and a few others, before he ended up on Peckhum's ship.

Peckhum had taken Zekk in and cared for him, seeing Zekk's natural independence as a mirror of his own youth. The two finally stopped on Coruscant. There, he found refuge in the cityworld's subterranean environs. Later, he was befriended by Jaina and Jacen Solo. He is a wiry youth with black hair and striking green eyes.

It was Tamith Kai, scouring the underground levels of Coruscant, who discovered that Zekk had a large amount of Force sensitivity. He was brought to the Shadow Academy for training, and was taken under Brakiss's wing. Zekk's power grew swiftly, and so did the rivaly between he and Vilas, Tamith Kai's apprentice. The two were pitted against each other in a battle to the death for the position of Darkest Knight. Both Tamith Kai and Brakiss believed that the rivalry between the two would divide the Academy. In the battle, Zekk managed to dispatch Vilas. This victory made Zekk the Darkest Knight of the Shadow Academy, a positioon bestowed upon him by Brakiss, much to Tamith Kai's dismay.

As the Darkest Knight, Zekk was given command of the assault team sent to Kashyyyk to steal starship components for the Second Imperium's own ships. They infiltrated the planet holo-disguised as Wookiees, and successfully obtained a large amount of starship shielding and navigational equipment. When he suddenly found that his Imperial masters were defeated, Zekk tried to return to the Light Side of the Force, but found himself unable to concentrate and accomplish his goals.

He fled Yavin 4 and returned to Ennth, only to discover the planet in the throes of is worse devastation in recent record. He helped evacuate as many people as he could, but he still felt out of place. After the evacuation, he let himself drift through the Force, and decided to become a bounty hunter. He accepted the challenge of capturing Bornan Thul, hoping to use the little control he had of the Force to track him down before anyone could harm him.

Like many others, he failed to find the Alderaanian, but was welcomed back into the fold of friends on Yavin 4. He later helped Raynar Thul search out Bornan, and rejoined the Jedi Academy. He continually worked to avoid the Dark Side, and actually used the Force to win the 93rd annual Blockade Runners Derby.

In the current conflict, he was a strike member of the Solo Children's Strike Team. After the bitter death of Anakin Solo, he returned to the Eclipse after loosing his life-long friend, Jaina Solo, almost to the dark side of the force. He has currently been helping in the conflict and guarding the Jedi Children.
